>> PROFILE

Ascendant Heights was formed in 1998 by school friends Richard Andrews and Fergus Walker as part of Shantytown Recordings Ltd. and predominantly focussed on releasing trance music produced by The Mexican and Adelphoi. Ascendant Heights later signed music by Chasing Time and BabyGiant and commissioned remixes by Interflow (Chris Hampshire), Harry Diamond and Audio Armbands. Compositions on the label such as The Mexican's 'Shadow Stalker', 'Middenheim' and 'Land Of The Pharaohs' and Adelphoi's 'Solaris', 'One Night Stand' and 'A Better Tomorrow' were supported by a wide range of DJs including Dave Pearce, John '00' Fleming, Mark Sinclair and many more!

The first two Ascendant Heights releases were manufactured by Shantytown Recordings Ltd. and distributed by Mo's Music Machine, before the label signed a P&D deal with Alphamagic who pressed and distributed all of the other releases. Unfortunately, Ascendant Heights closed in 2000 due to distribution issues and the only scheduled but unreleased Ascendant Heights release: The Mexican & Fluctuation 'Night Flight' became the debut Electrolysis release in 2002. Also in 2002, Ascendant Heights became a sub label of Electronica Exposed.

All Ascendant Heights releases were pressed as limited edition vinyl editions, which are all now out of print. The entire catalogue was released on CD and digital download on Electronica Exposed on EECD001 - Ascendant Heights - The Complete Works. The CD release is out of print but the digital download release is available from: Beatport, Juno Download and Trackitdown.
