Fans of Shanty and Tazz's legendary Digital Beats trancecore and freeform imprint will remember Tazz & Loopy's dark and dirty 'Life Support' from the Future Acid Experiments 1 EP, which was released in 1998. A few months after the original was released, Digital Beats planned a second Remix EP featuring new remixes of 'Life Support' by Tazz & Loopy and Penguin Conspiracy. However in summer 1999, Alphamagic, the distributor of Digital Beats, did not want to continue to press and distribute the label for various reasons, so both remixes were left on the back burner. In fact, Penguin Conspiracy produced two versions of their remix, which were both recorded at Kinetec Studios in central London. The Dark, Dirty & Raw Remix was recorded first, originally titled as the Minus 303 Degrees Remix and was engineered by legendary acid techno producer DDR, who is paid homage to by the new title for this remix. The Dark, Dirty & Raw Remix was considered a little long and self indulgent, but it's still the same evil acid techno workout with harsh acid lines, old school breakbeats and mangled hoovers! However, Penguin Conspiracy quickly returned to the studio and made the new and much tighter Minus 303 Degrees Remix, which is the version that would have been released on Digital Beats and is the next Electromotive release!
