Digital Beatz was formed in 2002 to recapture the freeform magic of Digital Beats with Shanty and Tazz bringing in Concept to co-run the label. The reboot largely happened due to the support of Devastate, who was a huge fan of the original label and manufactured the first Digital Beatz vinyl release. Just like Digital Beats, Digital Beatz gained a reputation for showcasing a unique and highly varied spectrum of freeform music by a wide range of artists and engineers. Some of the biggest compositions on Digital Beatz are Shanty, Tazz & Concept 'Beast Of Hardcore', Social Outkast v Shanty, Tazz & Concept 'Twist Of Faith', Tazz & Concept 'Planet Of Dreamz', Tazz & A.M.S. 'Gettin Dirty', Oli G & Gammer 'Photex', Invader & Oli G 'Living Hell' and Tazz & Concept 'Planet Of Dreamz (Kevin Energy & A.M.S. Remix)'.

From DIGI002 onwards, Digital Beatz was pressed and distributed exclusively by the Nu Energy Collective with Kevin Energy, Derek Thorpe and Bex working tirelessly to help promote the label, which lead to Digital Beatz compositions being licensed to the Bonkers 9 : Hardcore Mutation, Bonkers X, Bonkers 12 : The Dirty Dozen, Hardcore Heaven, Happyhardcore.com Presents Hardcore Tsunami 2 and 400% Nu Energy compilation albums. After the release of DIGI007, Concept left to start the trance label Motion, leaving Shanty and Tazz to continue forward on the final two releases. Unfortunately, Digital Beatz closed in 2005 as Nu Energy was no longer able to continue to press and distribute the label, so all of the unreleased compositions that were due to be released on Digital Beatz were released on various Digital Beatz EPs and LPs on Electronic.

The full Digital Beats artist roster includes Shanty, Tazz, Concept, Impact, The Sith, Social Outkast (Sharkey & A.M.S.), Stormtrooper, Nocturnal, A.M.S., Dodgee, UFO, Oli G, Gammer, Invader, Sonic, Kevin Energy and Scott Potential, with compositions engineered by many highly regarded artists in their own right including Devastate, Impact, Fade, Sharkey, A.M.S., UFO and Cube::Hard / Stargazer!

All Digital Beatz releases were pressed as limited edition vinyl editions and are out of print. The entire Digital Beatz catalogue was released on CD and digital download on Electronica Exposed on:

12.2003 - Review By Impact In Upfront Magazine
"This track opens with a fierce, overly distorted sample repeating whilst the sound of a huge, pounding kick drum filters in and out with clever and effective use of both low and high pass filters, which just add to the mesmerizing assault of the senses and sick n twisted feel that this track creates right from the off. It kicks in with such a dramatic effect that it's destroyed dance floors everywhere!! Then comes in the most filthy acid that you're ever likely to hear as the frequencies twist n turn to make you almost want to cover your ears. The main riff is an evil, distorted, dark synth that tears over the rest of the track to give it maximum lift without sounding a bit cheesy!! I guess the only way to describe this track is sick n twisted, but I guess that's why I love it!!!"

06.2003 - Review By Brisk In Mixmag
"The Digital Beatz posse get down and dirty with this menacing, driving grinder. Satanic vocals sit astride dark synth breakdowns before huge acid sweeps catapult the track off again at high velocity. Dangerous stuff. On the flip Tazz and Concept leave Shanty to make the tea as they venture off on another high-speed freeform journey."
