Artists featured on Electromotive include Shanty, The Mexican, Penguin Conspiracy, Epyx & Cyrez, Carbon Based, Tazz, A.M.S., James Xavier, Pain On Creation, Grimsoul and many more! Electromotive predominantly released freeform but the music policy was varied and also includes the following genres: acid techno, breakbeat hardcore, breaks, hard dance, hard house, hard trance, progressive trance and trance.

01. Epyx & Cyrez 'Neverlasting'

Epyx & Cyrez kick start Electromotive with their very last freeform track 'Neverlasting', a remix of 'Everlasting' which was one of their first signings to Electronica Exposed back in 2007 and featured on Electronic Exclusives 5 - Digital Dawn. 'Neverlasting' was written to celebrate the final Epyx & Cyrez live PA at the 12 Years Of Finrg event at Club Venue, Helsinki, Finland on 21.02.2014, which was a special B2B set with Tyranoid/Strongstream & Proteus. Clearly inspired by the poignancy of this occasion, the Finnish duo have crafted a truly epic freeform emotional rollercoaster which stands as a fitting farewell for Epyx & Cyrez!

Grimsoul touches down on Electromotive with the HU4 Instrumental Mix of 'After Quality', the original version of which featured on his superb debut album Melancholy Overdose on Electronica Exposed in 2008. The HU4 Instrumental Mix is exactly the same, except that the vocal sample was removed to allow 'After Quality' to be used on Oli G & Lost Soul's legendary freeform DJ mix on the Hardcore Underground 4 compilation album, which was released in 2009. With or without the vocal, 'After Quality' is the definition of epic freeform!

01. Shanty, Tazz & Kontrol K 'High Life'

Originally written in late 2001 or very early in 2002, 'High Life' is a unique collaboration between Shanty, Tazz & Kontrol K. The exact reasons why 'High Life' was never released at the time aren't clear, but it perhaps needed some minor alterations to the arrangement and / or mixdown. 'High Life' was originally titled 'Rave Ripper' and was the second composition that Shanty and Tazz wrote using that name. A third composition titled 'Rave Ripper' was ultimately released on the X Rated EP on Electronic in 2005, although there was no link between any of the three compositions other than in name. Older freeform and trancecore lovers will remember that Kontrol K co-wrote 'Bezerker' with Tazz and Narcotic, which was released on Hecttech Records in 2002, and also wrote as Outrageous and Element on Digital Beats. Electromotive is pleased to finally unleash the big kicks, old school stabs, rising acid lines and epic leads of the fast and furious 'High Life'!

01. Tazz & Loopy 'Life Support (Remix)'

Fans of Shanty and Tazz's legendary Digital Beats trancecore and freeform imprint will remember Tazz & Loopy's dark and dirty 'Life Support' from the Future Acid Experiments 1 EP, which was released in 1998. A few months after recording the original, the duo hit the studio and created a monumental remix that retains the evil acid lines, dark synths and mangled hoovers to create an equally intense freeform journey! The Remix was originally due to be released on the second Digital Beats Remix EP, along with an acid techno remix by Penguin Conspiracy. However in summer 1999, Alphamagic, the distributor of Digital Beats, did not want to continue to press and distribute the label for various reasons, so both remixes were left on the back burner. In 2002, the Remix was licensed to Hecttech Records who released it on vinyl along with Tazz, Kontrol K & Narcotic 'Bezerker'. As Hecttech Records no longer exists, and that 'Life Support' and its remixes have always been owned by Digital Beats, Shanty and Tazz both agreed for Electromotive to release this unavailable freeform classic!

01. Shanty 'Departure Lounge (Outbound) (Mix 2)'

In late 1997, Shanty ventured to the RSR studio in Southampton and wrote his first trancecore composition 'Departure Lounge (Outbound)', which was released on vinyl on MC Marley's Britsh Underground Dance in 1998 and was later released on CD and digital download on Electronic Exclusives 2 - Universal Kingdoms in 2005. Engineered by trancecore legend UFO, 'Departure Lounge (Outbound)' features all the trademarks of the music that UFO co-wrote and engineered at the time, most of which is showcased on Sharkey's also legendary Bonkers 3 mix, which is arguably the best trancecore and / or freeform mix that has been released on CD to date. When 'Departure Lounge (Outbound)' was recorded to DAT, two versions were arranged with slightly different intros and outros. The released mix starts and ends with kick drums and percussion, whereas Mix 2 starts and ends with the bassline and percussion. Electromotive is pleased to release 'Departure Lounge (Outbound) (Mix 2)' for anyone who has always wanted a slightly less DJ friendly version!

Early in 2004, The Mexican and The *Ting* met at James Xavier's studio for a one-off hard trance collaboration titled 'Kaktus', which was released on vinyl on Proactive Records later the same year. Actually, 'Kaktus' was originally titled 'Hesburger' and why it was renamed on the vinyl release is anyone's guess! 'Kaktus' is a driving hard trancer with searching pads, rolling percussion and euphoric synth leads. As Proactive Records does not exist any more, Electromotive is pleased to release this unavailable gem!

In November 2003, The Mexican travelled to Coventry for a three day studio session at Barry Diston's Fidget studio, which resulted in three compositions including the hard house monster 'Red Raw', which was released on vinyl on Fidget Hard in 2004. The other two compositions produced in that session were 'No Fear' and 'Rush', which were both released on Electrolysis - The Complete Works Volume 2 on Electronica Exposed in 2009. 'Red Raw' really is as dirty and abrasive as hard house can be, and as Fidget Hard does not exist any more, Electromotive is pleased to release this unavailable classic!

RFO & James Xavier land on Electromotive with the Frantic Euphoria Instrumental Mix of 'Floor Burner', the original of which was released on vinyl on Club Concrete in 2004, and was later released on CD and digital download on Club Concrete - The Complete Works on Electronica Exposed in 2008. 'Floor Burner' was also remixed by Equinox and released on the same album, as well as on vinyl on Club Concrete in 2006. The Frantic Euphoria Instrumental Mix is exactly the same as the original, except that the vocal sample was removed to allow 'Floor Burner' to be used on one of the two Anne Savage DJ mixes on the Frantic Euphoria compilation album, which was released on Ministry Of Sound in 2004. 01. Adelphoi 'Pure Aspirations (Fizzy Pop Mix)'

In 1999, Adelphoi recorded the Fizzy Pop Mix of their first trance composition 'Pure Aspirations' at Austin Reynolds' studio in Brentwood. Shortly afterwards, the Two Sugars Mix was recorded at Jim Sullivan's studio, which was released on vinyl on Ascendant Heights in 2000 and on CD and digital download on the Ascendant Heights - The Complete Works compilation on Electronica Exposed in 2008. The exact reasons why the Fizzy Pop Mix was not released on Ascendant Heights are unclear, but it's certainly in keeping with other music on the label, so should have been! Both mixes of 'Pure Aspirations' feature the same darkly tinged yet ravey lead riff melody, but the Fizzy Pop Mix is the tougher of the two with it's relentless bubbling grooves and psy arps!

The 403 In Brentwood Mix is the first mix and was named because one of the main sounds used was sampled from a Casio 403 and the studio was located in Brentwood, Essex! 'Small Town Dreams' was originally going to be the third vinyl release on Ascendant Heights and was actually manufactured to the test press stage of production. However, due to some unknown error with the DAT that was sent to the mastering house, the 403 In Brentwood Mix was mastered on both sides of the vinyl by accident. Also, around the same time, Ascendant Heights changed distribution from Mo's Music Machine to Alphamagic and for whatever reason, 'Small Town Dreams' was placed on the back burner. Both mixes of 'Small Town Dreams' feature the same slightly melancholic main melody, but the 403 In Brentwood Mix is tougher with it's driving bubbly acid and heavy duty classic 1980's stab hits!

'Picture Perfect' remained unreleased as it was recorded after Ascendant Heights closed and was perhaps a little light to be released on Electrolysis. The Progressive Mix was the second of the two mixes of 'Picture Perfect' to be recorded and was very much inspired by the music Futureshock produced around that time. Therefore, the Progressive Mix is a much subtler journey with question and answer hits, an unrelenting simple synth groove and a lush, emotional breakdown! However, Penguin Conspiracy quickly returned to the studio and made the new and much tighter Minus 303 Degrees Remix, which is the version that would have been released on Digital Beats and is the next Electromotive release!

01. Shanty & Tazz 'Death By Trancecore'

Electromotive continues the onslaught with Shanty and Tazz's unreleased gem 'Death By Trancecore', which was recorded in January 1999 and was engineered by legendary producer Jon Doe (CLSM). 'Death By Trancecore' was originally titled 'Rave Ripper' and was intended to be released on vinyl on Digital Beats. However, the composition has some issues with the kick and bass that needed to be corrected and never were, so 'Death By Trancecore' was left on the back burner. It was originally titled 'Rave Ripper' and was the first composition that Shanty and Tazz wrote using that name. A third composition titled 'Rave Ripper' was ultimately released on the X Rated EP on Electronic in 2005, although there was no link between any of the three compositions other than in name. Electromotive is pleased to finally unleash the screaming acid, dark synth stabs and breakbeat edits of the mega evil 'Death By Trancecore'! You have been warned!

01. A.M.S. 'Black Notice (Tazz & Shanty Digital Beatz Remix)'

A.M.S. makes a guest appearance on Electromotive with the unreleased Tazz & Shanty Digital Beatz Remix of 'Black Notice', the original mix of which was released on vinyl on Switched On in 2005. The remix was recorded in 2005 and at around the same time that Tazz & Shanty also gave the Digital Beatz treatment to S4 & Phosphor's 'Hellbound' and Kevin Energy's 'Hypnotizing Terravising'. Tazz & Shanty injected 'Black Notice' with furious super saw synths, an emotional breakdown and crisp percussion. Like the original, the Tazz & Shanty Digital Beatz Remix was intended to be released on vinyl on Switched On, but the remix needed a couple of minor tweaks, which were never completed for whatever reason. A.M.S. has very kindly allowed Electromotive to release the Tazz & Shanty Digital Beatz Remix of 'Black Notice', and Electromotive is delighted to release this unavailable freeform gem!

01. Shanty 'Emotions Conflicting'

In September 1997, Shanty booked his first studio sesssion at Luke Baldry's Earth Terminal studio in Farnham, Surrey, which was where many of the classic 1993 - 1996 breakbeat hardcore anthems by the likes of Sy & Unknown were recorded. The aim was to produce a very retro, breakbeat hardcore composition unlike most of the much stompier music that was prevalent by 1997. This studio session lead to two mixes of one composition, although the two mixes were given interlinked names: 'Emotions Conflicting' and 'Conflicting Emotions'. 'Conflicting Emotions' was released on Electroplates on vinyl in 2006 and later on CD and digital download on Electroplates - The Complete Works on Electronica Exposed in 2008. 'Emotions Conflicting' is the lengthier mix of the two and is older by one day! Both mixes feature the same upbeat pads, classic old school pianos and rolling breakbeats! 'Emotions Conflicting' is the seed that lead to Electronica Exposed, and Electromotive is pleased to honour that by releasing this unavailable gem! Go!

01. Pain On Creation 'Second Death (Unreleased Mix)'

Pain On Creation are unleashed on Electromotive with the Unreleased Mix of 'Second Death', the original of which was released on vinyl on Electronic in 2005, and was later released on CD and digital download on Electronic - The Complete Works Volume 3 on Electronica Exposed in 2008. The Unreleased Mix is very similar to the original but features some minor arrangement changes and the addition of a piano which follows the main lead melody. 'Second Death' remains an indisputable freeform masterpiece and is one of the finest compositions in Electronica Exposed's immense back catalogue! 01. Shanty, Tazz & Loopy 'Maximum (Carbon Based Remix)'

Fans of the legendary Digital Beats trancecore and freeform imprint will remember Shanty, Tazz & Loopy's epic 'Maximum' from the Time Crisis EP, which was released on vinyl in 1998 and was later released on CD and digital download on Electronica Exposed in 2008. Just before Digital Beatz closed in 2005, Shanty and Tazz had been planning on adding Carbon Based to their artist rosta and commissioned Carbon Based to remix 'Maximum' in their unique Finrg style. The remix was pretty much completed in either late 2004 or early 2005, but there were some minor adjustments to be made and for whatever reason, there was never a definitve version of the remix. Whilst searching for unreleased gems in the Electronica Exposed archives, Shanty rediscovered the remix and asked Toni from Carbon Based about releasing it. After searching through his own archives, Toni found the original stems and completed a super fresh mixdown based on them. Toni did an absolutely amazing job to make the remix sound the best it ever has, and it's one hell of a remix! Using the original elements, the Carbon Based Remix takes a very different approach to the original, becoming a more melodic, epic journey complete with trademark, filtered Finrg synths, heavy acid stabs and a new, atmospheric lead melody! Electromotive would like to publicly thank Toni for his amazing work and is delighted to finally unleash this unreleased freeform classic!

01. 33 'Never Stand Alone (JD-Kid Remix)'

Originally released on Electronic Bedlam in 2010 with a remix by Executive Records head honcho Haze and his production partner Archie, their remix of 'Never Stand Alone' was also included on the Electronic Bedlam - The Complete Works compilation album and in Shanty's slamming DJ mix on Hardcore Anthems 2010, both of which were released on Electronica Exposed in 2010. Around this time, the remix files were sent to Buenri in Spain via DJ Frantic at Icon Distribution who commissioned JD-Kid to do a makina remix to be used in Buenri's DJ Mix on the Activa Live 2011 compilation album that was released on Bit Music in 2011. Following various issues regarding the rights to the remix, an agreement was reached which allowed Makinaforce Recordings to exclusively release the JD-Kid remix on vinyl in 2014, along with 3 other slamming JD-Kid compositions. The agreement also allowed the JD-Kid remix to return to Electronica Exposed and Electromotive is delighted to be be able to finally unleash this rare, happy hardcore slammer!
